I found this recipe when searching for a good banana pudding recipe. The place I found it gave credit to Paula Deen...can't go wrong with Paula! My husband, who is one of the biggest banana pudding fans I know, said this is the absolute best banana pudding he has ever tried!
2 bags Pepperidge Farm Chessman cookies (or vanilla wafers)
6 bananas, sliced
2 cups milk
1 (5 oz) box instant French vanilla pudding
1 (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
1 (12 oz) cool whip (I used 8 oz when I made it)
Line bottom of 9x13 dish with one bag of cookies. Layer bananas on top. In bowl, combine milk and pudding mix. Blend well with hand mixer. In another bowl, combine cream cheese and sweetened condensed milk. Mix until smooth. Fold in whipped topping. Add cream cheese mixture to pudding; stir until blended. Pour over cookies adn bananas. Cover with remaining cookies.
Refrigerate until ready to serve.
Makes approximately 12 servings.
