Pecan Pie Bars

1 (18 oz) yellow cake mix - set aside 2/3 cup
1/2 cup melted butter
1 egg

Mix until crumbly & pressed into greased 12x9 pan. Bake at 350* for 15-20 minutes until light brown.

Topping:
2/3 cup cake mix
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 1/2 cup corn syrup
1 tsp vanilla
3 eggs

Combine topping ingredients and beat 1-2 minutes at medium speed. Pour over baked crust and sprinkle with 1 cup chopped pecans. Bake at 350* for 30-35 minutes. Cool and cut into bars.
